i find the engine in your games to be very stiff and generic
It is interesting. Don't know wwhat your plans are but keep on trucking.
Explain me this. Why the king appeared in Red Moon if he was trap in a room forever by Armed With Wings? Really nice games, I enjoy a lot the story.
Ah that is because Red Moon is set before Armed with Wings 1 and 2.
How can you get in the demo it does'nt work for me
your a big fat nerd go get a life u piece of shit queer your nothing but a 300lb geek who wont amount to shit in life. Go shoot urself cuz im sure ur depressed and u never had a gf or bf LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whatever, I'm Arab. By genetic default I'll kick your ass.
armed with wings are my absolute favorite games on newgrounds and i really want to know what happens after the second one plz plz finish soon
I've played all the Armed With Wings games; the second was my favorite because of the tremendous number of combination options, beautiful transitions between movements, and interesting boss fights. Red Moon, meanwhile, I found relatively dull, just a matter of button mashing mixed in with standard-issue jump puzzles. Please note that I say this after playing it thoroughly (check my medals if you must) - out of respect for the quality of your work, I examined the installment carefully before reaching conclusions about it. I played your demo when it was released, thought it was another button-masher figured it was too far along to be modified much, and decided commenting would just give you worries. Your cutscenes were better than ever in Red Moon, the grim little plot fit in with the rest of the bleak, dark, series; I figured even if the gameplay of the next segment was awful I'd be thrilled to slog through it for the graphics. Recently, though, you said your PC crashed, taking most of your coding with it. So I'd recommend you take advantage of this fresh start by focusing on giving the game combat options that force a player to use a bit of strategy. Even if you limited the attacks mainly to punching or kicking like you did in Armed With Wings 2 (the special features were overpowered to the point I only used them on bosses - when I wasn't just abusing them for the sake of the stunning graphics), you could make it complex by giving sharp differences to the speed and power of blows. Since you seemed to be aiming for a multi-weapon system, I'd suggest allowing switching between them to be possible - with delays to discourage impulsive changes (you could even - I'd love to see Blackmist do that), as well as to force maneuvering - as well as relatively unique advantages (range, strike speed, combo value, power, supernatural qualities, etc.) for many of them. If you can say a single way of attacking is 'best' in all cases, then the game's combat is, by definition, one note, at least when taking the fighting seriously (if you put in a clearly overpowered super-weapon which is good for walking around levels casually to enjoy the scenery, that's not a problem, as using them seriously is clearly silly). I believe this makes jumping a necessary option in 2-D platform-type games. Armed With Wings 1 had, frankly, little to offer players besides stunningly stylish graphics. Yes, having a bird-control option was nice, but that was only useful for solving puzzles or creating little distractions. I suppose telling you the fans would appreciate it wouldn't help you with motivation - I would guess that's why you haven't given up entirely - so all I can suggest on that front is that I find toying with fighting strategies in games terribly interesting. As the creator of a game, you get to control what works and how well. Experimenting is usually a lot more exciting than just plugging in a bunch of cookie-cutter features. Moonsweeper had terrible graphics, but it stayed interesting simply because every battle offered new challenges (randomly generated terrain, hostile positions, and enemy armaments in fact), virtually every weapon a set of unique functions. Arcanorum offered all sorts of armaments, allowing for hours of toying around without concluding you learned all you could about the game. Try to get Armed With Wings 3's battle system to throw you surprises other than annoying glitches. See if you can get it to the point that you can't give solid answers for how to win. If you make it rigid, you'll just bore yourself. If you make mastering it tricky and complete perfection impossible, on the other hand, you'll have fresh challenges to look forward to when you work.
Also, harsh as this may be, I wouldn't have bothered posting at all if I didn't think you had tremendous potential. Your game art, frankly, is amongst the most refreshingly innovative and stylish I've seen on the web. Incidentally, I think that's because you've worked on mastery of the crisp, clean, simple outline rather than in spite of leaving out huge numbers of colors. Your work stands out visually as a result.
Good luck!
