As a fan of the Armed with Wings series, I'm obviously very pleased to be able to get a sneak preview of the next title...
I've got to say, I am looking forward to it even more than I was before! The graphics, as you mentioned, were excellent - very fluid, and whilst keeping in line with your distinctive style, a real step forward. The gameplay mechanice themselves were masterfully implemented - the eagle in particular worked as well as always, and I found the edge clinging to be a nice touch.
Obviously it's still a work in progress, but right now this demo is showing the potential to be the best in the series yet! I really enjoyed it, and can only suggest a few things:
1) Obviously this would be fixed in the game itself, but the music needs to be properly implemented, possibly with different music for the boss?
2) Air attacks for both you and the eagle would be a nice touch, as mentioned by others, but I'd be interested to see more than one attack button, similarly to Armed with Wings 2? That said, if the image of a fist in the bottom left corner is anything to go by, I assume more weapons will be available; if so, perhaps being able to switch weapon mid combo to change its outcome? Again, this is clearly a problematic suggestion, but could be a nice thought.
3) If you're having trouble with motivation, try rewarding yourself with cake whenever you reach a certain milestone in the game development! :3
Either way, I really appreciate your work and hope that you enjoy making this next title as much as we'll no doubt enjoy playing it!
Good luck, and thanks for letting us play around with the demo :P

that games is awesome. but while i do agree eagle shouldnit have attacks, i was thinking that maybe there was a special move you could do with it that you unlock after awhile.

How do you programmers live! D:
I got a headache.

win

the demo was tight, G!

This is not a huge deal but I would like to see more attacks... But I did really enjoy the demo and shiz

Nice demo o.o
Love the graphics.
There was one issue I had...The enemies' attack range. They could still hit you even if they didnt make contact, but other than that a good demo o.o

Really cool, as soon as i go into it the graphics made me go woah! and still the gameplay was awesome. the only thing id like to see added is some magic attack, but not like the evil dudes magic like powering yourself up and making yourself look epic, id also love it if it were a little more face paced, thats about it thanks for the great gaming experience and keep at it!

Really cool! AWW 2 is still my favorite. You cant jump attack in this demo. Im looking forward to this one.

I'm finding all you're comments very helpful and inspiring. Somehow I'm becoming more motivated to make sure this game is THE BEST experience can possibly deliver!
Back to work for me!

Seeing how it's a demo, I'm sure you want to hear about any glitches.

So far I found 1 (possibly two).

The first being that was I do a killing punch to an enemy (not a down+a punch, a normal punch) he 'vaporizes'. If I quickly continue punching, the 'vaporizing' animation starts over. I'm sure it would've happened again if I punched again.

The second, and i'm not sure if this is a glitch, the boss fight was rather difficult to manouver in. Say one of the beams came down, I can't run through the flame until it vanishes completely. Even if it's alfa (opacity) is incredibly low. The damage always remains the same and I still go flying backwards.

I enjoyed the demo. It looked fantastic. There are only a few things that I found fault with. The trees that act as foreground would block my vision of the battle, albeit rarely. The game also didn't feel as smooth as the other versions, but I'm sure that will be worked out by the time the game is done. I also find it a bit strange to give the boss a roar animation for his intro, yet have no sound. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find a simple sound clip for a roar or something. But, that is just personal taste. All in all, great for what work you have put into it, and I look forward to seeing it completed someday.

of course in the final build there will be sounds effects. This is a demo.

Armed with Wings is coming on real nicely, I love the atmosphere and feel.

If you're having trouble with AS3 then try either my own tutorial here on AS3 depth assortment which gives a good intro to AS3:

The graphics are astounding to say the least. The keys though, feel a little unresponsive. It was mentionned in an earlier post that this game is not as smooth as your others which is quite true. And midair attacks and combos are needed. I really liked the trees and the snake statues that like stood out. It felt like the main character was actually in the game. Another thing that I think you should add is some birds flying in the backround or something similar to add some liveliness to the game. And perhaps you could add skulls in the ground in some areas just to give some variety to the backrounds etc. Overall, nice game!

unbelievably great this is your best work yet great grapics and great gameplay but is missing air combos and the frame rate needs a bit of work but is looking like your best piece of work yet!

Wow, this is very nice. You'll just have to trudge through it until you find something about it you like, then you'll code like wild fire (for the armed wings demo).

as for the coding, it takes time. I still like the IDE, but i do do some FD. The IDE provides the results i need, where FD provides the real will to code, and be clean.

awesome. but, like our friend said down there, call in the air combos. and about the "Shoryuken" (haha) how about it just launch the enemy up? with that, jump, air combo, ground smash.
sounds cool to me. but of course it depends on your way to see it ^^
really good demo, keep it up!

VIVA PÁTRIA AMADA!

holy shit that demo was great did you make the song? great job

I've also played the demo ... bout 4 times. I've completed all the previous games, and frankly, if you would combine Armed with Wings 2 with Red Moon, and the graphics from the demo, you would make a piece of art (not counting that those games are pieces of art).
One thing I didn't like in the previous games, is that they are kind of short, and tend to be monotonous.
I know my suggestion implies a fuck load of work, but hear me out:
- A cool ideea would be to have the posibility to chose betwen AwW or Lorde, or Hawken, or Eivana, or... the big dude from Armed with wings 2.
- A character menu where you could build stats like in a RPG with the posibility to chose from fighting styles, or weapons, etc. or to upgrade them
- as far as the raven... beautiful work, however as you sad it's far too boring. why not put in some traps for it where you'd need AmW to get him out... or hell... make it chase after something.
...
I should stop before I become a total Know-it-all
If you'd help with the background stuff, or further graphic development, or concept stuff... maybe I can help...
Good luck in the future

Seeing this game brings me to want to start learning AS3. But it didn't bring me far enough. Seriously, if I wanted to use OOP I would just go back to programming in Java. But besides that, this game is gorgeous! The graphics and gameplay are awesome. Making games is what you do best. And adding more design and detail to the backgrounds really make it look good. Oh, and could you tell me how you create the "breaking up" text effect. The one you used on the "Armed with Wings 3" text.

I used 3D Studio max to get get that text to break apart. Would never be able to do it in flash. I installed some plugin Swift 3D MAX v3 that renders from 3dsmax to vector.
